Ancient Angel Tattoo Designs

Angel tattoo designs have been around for centuries with many designs now lost in time or destroyed by the church during dark periods of our history. Thankfully some artwork from all over the world has survived these dark periods, the better pieces being in museums and in private hands.

Angel tattoos can have many special meanings and representations to a whole range of people. Some people have a spiritual connection either from a religious background or from an even in their life which has made them turn to the church or spiritual realms for guidance and support.

There are many angels in biblical history, not just in Christianity but they can also be found in the Judaic and Islam religions too. These similar beings are what we call Archangels. In Christianity the three main Archangels are Gabriel, Michael and Raphael. The most controversial and infamous winged biblical beings are the Fallen Angels. The most famous of these being Lucifer who has been represented in time under many different names.

There are some folks that will say that ancient Angels are actually ancient aliens. In these old world times religion meant everything and some events where aliens have appeared on earth have been represented as a Biblical event. This is easy to understand as people from ancient times would have no comprehension of U.F.O's or aliens.

The problem with the Angel tattoo designs that are on the market today is that they all seem to be generic images with the same altered designs appearing everywhere online. The solution to this well known problem is quite simple really.

The first thing you should do is to get hold of as much religious literature that you can find. Not just Christian literature but Judaic and Islamic literature too. The older the better as there is some very wierd and nice looking pictures in the older magazines. Bible story books are a great source too, you will probably find some very scary looking angels in these books as children's bible stories are often full of scary pictures to keep the kids in line.

You can also Google pictures of old museum pieces where you will find hundreds of paintings and drawings that can be copies or altered to create your own Angel tattoo designs. Once you have a few designs from old books, old artwork or even the internet, you can start getting ideas and piece together something suitable that can be taken to a tattoo artist for an expert opinion.  Lucas Price
